Friends of the Library
Friends of the Library sponsor the following school events: Visiting Authors, iIlustrators and Storytellers; Book Clubs (Caldecott, Newbery, and other book clubs); Sponsor of Birthday Books; Battle of the Books and Book Fairs. The Friends of the Library financially helps the North Star library, the leveled bookroom and teacher classroom literacy.
There is a library volunteer group made up of many parents who volunteer weekly at the check out desk during the school day. They check books in & out, shelve, and help with any FOL sponsored activities and miscellaneous duties assigned by the librarian. This group allows our librarian the freedom to introduce books and stories to our children, teach them about their library and how to use it, and introduce them to the reading clubs available to them.
The library is very important to our school . You are welcome to visit anytime and we encourage you to sign up to volunteer. Working in the library is a great way to contribute to your child’s education and interest in reading. Working in the library is a great way to experience the whole school, see your child in school and make new friends.
